1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Asia-Pacific New Energy Alliance uses cookies and similar technologies on https://joinapnea.org. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels, tags, scripts and device identifiers. They can support website operation, remember choices, protect forms, measure usage and improve performance.
3. Categories used on this website
Strictly necessary technologies. These support core website functions, security, consent preferences, administrator sessions and form protection. They cannot always be disabled through the site because the website may not function securely without them.
Analytics technologies. With your permission, Google Analytics 4 may place or read identifiers such as _ga and _ga_ to distinguish sessions and users, measure page views and interactions, and produce aggregated usage reports. Analytics is intended to remain disabled until analytics consent is provided.
Security and anti-abuse technologies. Where enabled, Google reCAPTCHA may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie and process interaction information to assess spam and abuse risk. APNEA treats this as a necessary security function on protected forms.
The website does not currently use advertising cookies, Meta Pixel or a payment processor. If this changes, this policy and the consent settings will be updated before or when those technologies are introduced.
4. Indicative cookie table
Consent preference cookie: set by the selected consent-management tool to remember your cookie choices. Purpose: necessary. Duration: determined by the consent tool configuration.
_ga and _ga_: set by Google Analytics after analytics consent. Purpose: analytics and measurement. Duration: controlled by Google and the APNEA analytics configuration.
_GRECAPTCHA: set by Google reCAPTCHA when executed. Purpose: fraud, spam and abuse prevention. Duration: controlled by Google.
WordPress authentication cookies: used only for authorised users who sign in to administer the website. Purpose: necessary. Duration: session or according to WordPress settings.
5. Your choices
You can accept or reject optional analytics cookies through the cookie banner and can reopen cookie settings from the website footer. Rejecting analytics will not prevent access to the public website.
You may also block or delete cookies through browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect forms, consent choices, security or other website functions.
6. Google services
Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA are provided by Google. Data processed by Google is subject to Google contractual terms and privacy information. Where supported, APNEA may use privacy-focused configuration options, consent mode and reCAPTCHA endpoints that reduce unnecessary cookie exposure.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when technologies, providers, legal requirements or website functions change. The current version will be published on this page.
